AS 201: 5 hours -Half Day - 8 am -

AS 201 is a new course for 2006 and is designed
from feedback and consultation with attendees
of AS 101 regarding their needs and desires and
is for previous attendees of AS 101 only.
AS 201 provides additional information that is
beyond the scope and purpose of AS 101 and builds
on what was presented in AS 101. AS 201 will aide
in further implementing and expanding the medical
model and is supplemented with additional financial,
operational and management systems that will result
in even greater profits and satisfaction. The
purposes of AS 201 like AS 101 are to work less
and earn more, while gaining greater freedom and
joy in your practice.
Successful completion of AS 101 is a prerequisite
for enrolling in AS 201. Since AS 201 requires
a working knowledge of the topics and materials
covered in AS 101 to fully incorporate the information
presented in AS 201, prior attendance of AS 101
is essential.
The concepts taught during this workshop will
result in increased income that will almost entirely
drop to your bottom line.
AS 201 - Course Description
Topics included in this additional 5 hour presentation
are:
1 - Learn how to develop accurate office protocols
that are based on various policy publications
concerning the accepted standard of care, for
some of the more common medical services your
office will encounter. Leave this workshop with
a working knowledge and a concrete plan regarding
the frequency of testing and care that is expected
for these more common medical diagnoses.
2 - Learn about and get copies of the forms, fee
slips and operational systems that will allow
you to more efficiently and profitably manage
the vision exam patient that needs further medical
testing and follow-up after the vision exam. Operational
systems for ongoing medical recall, reactivating
non-compliant patients and the medical follow
up and documentation necessary for missed appointments,
no shows and cancellations will be covered.
3 - Learn how to design and implement a schedule
templating and management system that will add
accountability, maximize daily production, reduce
waste, and increase profits for each day you work.
These systems will maximize profits and allow
you to work fewer days each year.
4 - Learn a Budgeting & Income Projection
Process that will allow you to reach your goals
for net profit and will enable you to determine
the minimum number of days you will have to work
to meet these goals.
5 - Learn about the numerous financial tools and
indicators that banks and financial consultants
use to evaluate your loan worthiness, to compare
the current financial health of your practice
to expected standards and to discover new ways
to improve the financial health and profitability
of your practice. These financial tools are used
to actively manage your practice toward greater
profitability by managing the factors that influence
profits the most.
6 - Additional and more complicated coding and
billing examples will test and refine your knowledge
of how to code complex visits more accurately
and profitably. Several examples will be presented
from Dr Michael's own practice and other examples
will be gathered from AS 201 attendees - so here
is your chance to get additional answers to cases
that are confusing you the most.
7 - Understanding the audit process - we will
be auditing specific patient visits provided from
Dr Michael's own practice and by attendees of
AS 201. These audits will be designed to mimic
a real one and will educate you on what to look
for in your patient records so that you will be
in better compliance with accurate coding and
documentation requirements. This exercise will
increase your knowledge of the auditing process
to help further decrease your audit risk and will
bring you into better coding compliance.
Each workshop attendee will receive:
1 - A complete reference manual including all
documents reviewed during the workshop
2 - Each office will receive a CD containing several
word and excel documents that will enhance the
financial impact of the medical model in your
