Mark spent 4 days with us and evaluated every aspect of the office. He gave us recommendations and a new business plan, budget, equipment, fee profile, personnel evaluation ideas, mission statement, etc.... It took us about a year to fully implement all the changes that Mark suggested. I struggled with some of the ideas, mainly due to pride, as I felt I had a successful practice to begin with, My goal was to enhance it a bit.

Mark is quite brilliant. He understands the medical model and the financial model of business very well. That's really all you need to learn, let's face it. There is not much to the optometry model. At times I think the optometric business plan that most docs rely on is to see as many patients as you can for any fee they will pay, sign on for all discounted plans and deal with the low fees and staff attrition because it is common in every office. It doesn't have to be this way.

I know it is expensive to make the commitment. You will recoup the fee in no time. The satisfaction alone of being in control of your future more than you ever imagined is worth the fee.
